The title of the exhibition, The Things That Won’t Let Me Sleep Are Usually So Sweet, carries a certain ambiguity. Yet, with its pragmatic simplicity, one could imagine it being used in an advertising campaign for Monster Energy drink – it is definitely sweet and probably won't make us want to sleep. While this interpretation might seem functional, it falls short of capturing the more romantic and fanciful undertones hinted at within the phrase. There’s an ineffable quality lurking just out of reach, one that invites a more imaginative reading.

In this exhibition, the artist transports us into a realm populated by abstract objects and paintings that feel as though they belong to another world. Much like a lucid dream, where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, these artifacts appear both familiar and otherworldly. They evoke the impression of having ventured from another dimension, only to become partially stranded in our reality – ghostly remnants of an elsewhere.

As part of this surreal narrative, the exhibition also preserves the trace of a monster – a visitor from another dimension that, in its hurried retreat through a portal, left behind a fragment of itself. This "stump," conspicuously resembling the logo of the aforementioned energy drink company, remains embedded in the gallery floor as a cheeky yet haunting memento of its passage.
