The centerpiece of the exhibition Victim of Destiny is the eponymous large-format painting of the Shredder, the infamous villain from the comic series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Depicted on partially shredded paper, the "tearer" himself lies on the ground, exhausted and defeated. In this moment of vulnerability, he confronts the shape of his destiny, which ultimately reveals itself to be a consequence of his own actions. Through this work, Ondřej Kotrč subtly asks the same question posed by the exhibition’s title: how much of our fate is self-inflicted?

The theme of self-destruction as a paradoxical means of self-preservation runs like a silver thread through nearly every work in the exhibition. This concept is most evident in Kotrč's multiplied replicas of Constantin Brâncuși's iconic sculpture The Sleeping Muse. Cast in dyed soap, these replicas undergo various metamorphoses, intended to strip the subject of its historical context and offer it a chance for a new, independent existence in the present.

The author interprets The Sleeping Muse as an idealistic symbol of the purest idea – an idea that, in its untouched form, cannot survive long in contemporary reality. Inevitably, it begins to distort and transform under the influence of external forces, which not only alter its original character but simultaneously create a new one. To illustrate this process, Kotrč deliberately selects significant motifs (victims) as subjects of transformation, allowing viewers to witness the forms fate has ultimately imposed upon them.
